200 Hour Teacher Training FAQs
What is the benefit of a 200 hour yoga teacher training?
The River’s 200 Hour yoga teacher training was created so that participants can learn about the history, philosophy, anatomy, assisting, energetic, ethical and business aspects of yoga. Trainees will finish 200 hours of teacher training with their knowledge of yoga expanded, their self awareness piqued and ready to confidently, competently and safely lead a 60 minute yoga class.
Whether or not one choses to teach yoga and share what they have learned or simply enrich their understanding of yoga, this training will deliver a well rounded experience. Students will learn strong, safe alignment, modifications for injuries and the “why” behind alignment queues and principles.
Over the course of 200 hours, trainees will learn effective methodology for delivering the message of yoga or really whatever they wish to convey, in clear and concise language. Through repetition, feedback and self study, trainees will find or refine the style of expression that best suits them.
Do I have to be at a “certain level” of yoga to do training? Do I need to be able to do crow/handstand/insert any pose name to do a yoga teacher training?
What happens if I need to miss a day during the teacher training course?
Finances are tight. Is there any way to pay the yoga teacher training cost over time?
I don’t think I want to be a yoga teacher? Is that okay?
I have already completed a power vinyasa teacher training already. Will I benefit from this 200 hour yoga training or should I look for an “advanced” training?
Will my yoga practice grow stronger? Will my voice grow clearer/louder if I complete this teacher training?
Why should I choose The River to complete my yoga teacher certification?
The River Power Vinyasa Yoga Studio is a locally owned and operated Denver yoga studio where its students experience is priority #1. The River teachers are encouraged to be authentic and creative. The River has created a template for what a power vinyasa class is, which is taught inside of the training and each teacher in our community is then supported as they share their view of yoga through it. Though you will start with a set sequence, you will be encouraged to be creative in sequencing soon after completing yoga teacher training and in so many others ways always. We want you to be you! Our instructors provide a balanced training, working on strong principles of instruction and knowledge of yoga in its totality, as well as creating a foundation on which an individual can shine whether that is in front of a yoga room, from behind a desk, or in their own living room. Connection and empathy are the roots of The River yoga teacher training program. The doors are open for questions, feedback, and even hugs. The River yoga training will meet participants where they are and initiate the creation of great yoga teachers. It is likely, should you join the teacher training that it will begin just before our first OM together and will carry on long after our last.
