What is your profession and what do you love most about it?
I’m an employment specialist helping people in recovery from severe mental illness find meaningful, productive employment. I love that every day I know exactly where I had a positive impact in someone’s life.
What is your favorite yoga pose and why?
The next one! I’m still new to yoga, having started only 6 months ago, so I’m still learning the intricacies of each pose. I have found the supported fish pose has really helped my upper back, especially on days where I’m at the computer most of the time.
What is “Your Yoga Story”
I started in December 2015 after thinking about it for a couple of years. No longer a spring chicken at 50, I wanted to incorporate the stretching and strengthening from yoga for cycling and golf. Everything came together when I moved into the Cap Hill area and at the recommendation of a coworker, I tried The River. Thanks Sammy! Now, every weekday morning starts with the early yoga class, it’s become an integral part of my life. I’ve stayed because I’ve been welcomed by the great morning instructors! Natalie, Carl, Madison and Allie, thanks for being there so early every day, you’re all wonderful.
What do you love about the River that makes it hOMe?
Honestly, the non-corporate, open, friendly atmosphere.
What is one thing that makes you UNIQUE?
I have a problem, I’m pathologically positive. I have a pitcher, if your glass isn’t full, I’ll fix it for ya.
