“When I got out of the U.S. Army in 2005 and then moved to Colorado in 2006, I was on a quest to improve myself from the inside out. I enrolled in a wellness program that included nutrition, yoga, and kick boxing. I instantly fell in love with yoga and signed up for a yoga teacher training. I finished my training in 2007 and I still find so much inspiration through my yoga practice and teaching.”

What is your favorite yoga pose? Why?

I love so many poses, but you can’t go wrong with downward facing dog. When I do not have much time to practice I love holding down dog because it lengthens my spine, aligns my chakras, opens up the back of my legs, and is an inversion.

What is your favorite song/band right now?

I love any music that makes me dance especially EDM. Right now I love “Don’t Let Me Down” by the Chainsmokers and Daya.

Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled?

Jamaica was amazing! The energy of the people changed my soul.

What do you like to do for fun (when you’re not on your mat)?

I love cooking! I will be cooking for the River retreat coming up September 30th!

What would you do if you could not fail?

I would open my own yoga studio that has a vegetarian cafe attached which serves food I grow in a greenhouse and locally source.
