Andy Jans
Andy Jans (he/him) found his practice in 2011. Andy is a lifelong athlete and has always enjoyed so many activities like hiking, running, mountain biking, and skiing to name a few. After hearing how yoga was an amazing complement to so many sports, he decided to give it a try. After that first class, he was hooked. He soon started practicing yoga more and more, then discovering the other, more internal aspects of yoga. After a few years of practice, he began to explore the many other styles of yoga and has been in love with the practice ever since.
Andy was a regular student at the River in 2014 when the very first yoga teacher training was announced, so he decided to enroll. He completed his 200-hour YTT in August of 2014 and has taught yoga ever since. He has since completed many different training modules at The River and other studios in the Denver area. In the fall of 2016, he completed his first Yin certification and completed the second in 2017. He is also scheduled to finish his 500-hour training with Jason Crandell in the summer of 2023.
You can expect fun and creative flows in Andy's vinyasa classes, where he blends fun transitions and builds towards a peak pose. His flows can be fun, challenging, and accessible to however you are showing up on your mat that day. His Yin classes are grounding and calm. He invites you to become still and practice letting go. He often teaches to the Daoyin 5 elements in each season.
Outside of the studio, you can find Andy attending a concert, practicing his banjo, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family. He is a Colorado local who has lived in this beautiful state his whole life and enjoys everything this state has to offer from hiking to skiing.
