Danielle Barbeau
Danielle Barbeau (she/her) has always been a lover of movement. As a college freshman, Danielle curiously wandered into a hot yoga studio with no expectations. One sweaty class later, she was hooked. More than two decades have passed and Danielle’s love for the asana practice and yoga as a way of living has only deepened. For Danielle, yoga continues to be a sanctuary in her own mind and heart, as well as a place of belonging in the community.
Similarly, when Danielle enrolled in teacher training in 2010 in San Diego, CA, she had no expectations of teaching public classes. That path quickly shifted in 2012 when Danielle moved to Denver and began teaching a single class at a brand new yoga studio called The River Yoga. Danielle often says that the River chose her, as she quickly accelerated from teaching as a side gig to being the owner and CEO of The River Yoga. In her journey as a teacher, Danielle has focused her studies on vinyasa and Anusara yoga. She is also a registered pre/postnatal teacher (RPNYT), a registered children’s yoga teacher (RCYT), and is certified in BUTI yoga. As a yoga professional, Danielle is also a proud member of the Yogapreneuer Collective. At The River, you will primarily find Danielle teaching River Flow classes. Beyond the studio, Danielle’s greatest passion is leading yoga and leadership retreats that invite guests to step outside their routine to reset.
Danielle's classes play with the dance between breath and moment, focus and fun. Music plays an important role in Danielle’s classes in supporting the energetic arch of the experience. Expect a high level of physicality blended with a nurturing space for you to explore what is of benefit to your body, heart, and mind.
When she's not on her mat or in the studio, Danielle is usually adventuring with her two young sons, Hendrix and Jasper, and their amazing community of friends in the beautiful Rocky Mountains and beyond.
