Rachel Petri

Rachel Petri (she/her) was first introduced to yoga by her mom, who was a Kundalini Yoga teacher for most of her childhood. She remembers curling up on her moms mat, laying her head in her lap, while her mom went on with her breathwork and meditaitons. This opened her up to the practice and got her curious, but she didn't cultivate her own practice until she was graduating from high school. She went to a Vinyasa Yoga class in Boston, MA with her sister and mom, and experienced a sense of freedom, strength and joy in her body that she had not experienced before.

Over the years she fell in love with the feeling of finding fluidity and strength in her body through movement, and as her practiced has deepened she's experience the profound impacts it has also had on her mind, heart, and perspectives on life. Yoga and meditation is now an integral part of Rachel's life, and what it means to feel like herself and live well. Sharing it with others is now a great source of meaning and purpose for her. Rachel did her first 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2016 at the New School of Yogic Arts, and has explored many different forms of continuing education since - from Bhakti, Katonah, and Kundalini Yoga, to training in breathwork and mindfulness meditation.

She has also been trained by GuruMeher Khalsa in facilitating Emotional Liberation, a form of self-therapy to greater understand our emotions and find healing. She was a Vision & Goals facilitator with lululemon for several years, using mindfulness and reflection to empower employees to live an inspired life.

Most recently she works for LoveYourBrain as a yoga and meditation teacher, and as their Communications Manager to support people affected by traumatic brain injury with programs based in meditation & yoga. The intent of each of Rachel's classes is to leave you with a sense of physical and mental rejuvenation, connection to yourself and others, and inspiration. You can expect flowly and juicy movement, in line with a Vinyasa Flow, with moments to pause to connect to the power of your breath.

Outside of the studio, you can find Rachel taking in the sunshine, breathing the fresh mountain air, and stopping to smell every flower. She loves to cook nourishing meals with and for loved ones, camp and hike in the Colorado wilderness, travel to new places, and swim in the ocean any chance she gets.
