Susanna Bogardus

Susanna Bogardus (she/her) was first introduced to yoga through PE classes in high school. She taught her first yoga sequence to her peers in Sanskrit during her sophomore year. Yoga consistently became a part of her life again after college as a way to balance out long-distance running. After experiencing PTS, and struggling with sleeplessness, flashbacks, and anxiety, she got a glimpse of healing and the beautiful wisdom of yoga in a hot class at The River Yoga in 2016. She decided to become a teacher in hopes that someday, she might be able to offer that glimpse to someone else in need of a whole mind-body connection. 

Susanna completed her 200hr YTT in 2017 and her 300hr in 2018. She now teaches all formats at the River including Hot River Flow, River Yin, Deep Stretch & Meditation, and Candlelight Flow. She is LoveYourBrain Level 1 and 2 certified.

Susanna seeks to honor the roots and history of yoga by weaving yogic texts and concepts into class. Join her for spirited flows, as she loves to find unique ways to sequence each class. Her love of organic house music is sure to find its way into each playlist. For River Yin, expect a grounded series of movements with plenty of space to breathe and meditate. Through introspection, community, and movement, Susanna hopes to guide you to a strong sense of self both on and off your mat. 

Outside the studio, Susanna loves to garden and cook. Growing up near the San Juans of SW Colorado, she finds her way back to the mountains as often as she can, and loves everything from winter 14ers to skiing, to camping, climbing, and hiking. Susanna is scuba certified and loves to dive. She serves as a mentor for the CU Leeds School of Business undergrads and has 15+ years experience working in marketing in tech. Nerd out with her on books, alpine gardening, travel, and secluded camping spots.
